Important: My Friend Pauline Needs Some Support

Stressed At WorkI was in contact with a friend of mine, Pauline Perreault today. Pauline had contacted me to ask about how she can get more eyes on an award that she’s applied for. She needs votes. We shared some interesting conversation and I realized that we share some things in common.

Employee morale in the work force is at an all time low. With the state of the economy, businesses have been forced to make cutbacks and eliminate benefits and other perks in order to remain profitable and keep the doors open. But unfortunately the people that are suffering the most are the employees of the business.

In fact, employee retention is at a major low. Did you know that the average employee has been with the company they’re with for less than 4 years? My parents (and probably yours too) are no longer the norm. My mom has been working at the same doctor’s office for close to 35 years and my dad has been with the same company for well over 15 years now. That just doesn’t happen anymore.

Pauline decided that she wanted to tackle this problem and she built a leadership institute that top employers flock to in order to stay current on the top trends of employee engagement. She teaches specific leadership skills and strategies to help businesses better engage and recognize their employees for their accomplishments and helps them to build a positive working environment.

The purpose of this is to provide a place where people can “jump outta bed” and not wake up dreading going to work every morning, wishing it was Friday.

I strongly support Pauline’s vision of her business and I think the work she does is very important. Employees are a businesses biggest asset. It’s the employees that create the customer experience, it’s the employees that get the job done, and it’s the employees that are the ones working the front-lines.

So here’s the deal. As I mentioned above, Pauline has applied for an award and who wins is based on the public’s opinion using a voting system.

I would like to encourage you to take a moment and go to Pauline’s profile page here and take a quick read of her application for the award. If what she’s doing resonates with you, then please take a moment to cast a vote for her.

If there’s one thing that I know is true, it’s that what gets rewarded, gets repeated. We need to encourage people to do what’s right, and Pauline gets my vote. I think she’s doing a great job and her heart and vision are pure.

So how can you help out and support Pauline?

Easy. There’s three things that you can do:

  1. Go over to Pauline’s award application page right now and cast your vote.
  2. Click on the “Like” button and share this on Facebook with your own online community to help spread the word.
  3. Retweet this blog post to your Twitter followers and help us spread the word.

The deadline for votes is Sunday, October 10th at midnight EST!
